Mass Effect: The Board Game project - Main Illustration

The culmination of the whole project was the design of a box with graphics promoting the game. On its top is an illustration in which all the heroes are performing activities in accordance with their professions, and in the distance is drawn the silhouette of the Reaper - their future enemy. The style of the illustration differs from that used on the cards, as it called for a more expressive approach to the characters. Instead of a cartoon style, I opted for a cartoon style, which allowed me to show the emotions on the characters' faces more clearly and create dynamic, energetic positions.

The illustration was inspired by promotional graphics of cartoons, in particular Steven Universe - I paid attention to the pastel colors and the way the cosmos is depicted as a fabulous, almost magical place. In addition, the bottom of the box included information about the game and its cards to introduce the player to the rules and the universe.

The stage of creating such a complex illustration began with a very sketchy visualization of the whole thing. Then I worked with 3D models, which helped me to maintain the anatomical consistency of the characters and to arrange the composition precisely.
